Serving gnocchis on the 29th of each month originates from a legend
going back to the VIII Century. There lived at that time in Nicosia (Asia Major)
a young doctor called Pantaleon who, after converting to Christianity,
pilgrimaged throughout northern Italy. There he performed miraculous cures for
which he was canonized. On a certain occasion when he asked some Venetian
peasants for bread, these invited him to join their humble table.
In his gratitude he foretold for them a year of bountiful fishing and
harvests. The prophecy came true as well as many other miracles.
St. Pantaleon was consecrated, alongside St. Mark, patron saint of
Venice. This legend occurred on a 29th., this being
the reason why that day is remembered with a simple dish represented by gnocchis.
The accompanying ritual of placing money underneath the plate symbolizes the
wish for new blessing

Tanghetto: electrotango – Nominated twice for a Latin Grammy (2004-2005)
Tanghetto is an
Argentine band led by Max Masri (synths and programming) and Diego S. Velázquez
(guitars); which was formed in 2001. The name "Tanghetto" (the combination of
the words "tango" and "ghetto") is inspired in the "little argentinas", the
communities of exiled Argentines overseas.
In the mid 90s, Max
Masri (one of the last disciples of the legendary tango composer Virgilio
Expósito) went back to Buenos Aires from Germany having lived interesting
experiences among Argentine emigrants and brought and idea with him: to create a
new musical language. In late 1998 he started working with Diego S. Velázquez
and from then on they began recording and producing (in a then nameless project)
their first electrotango tracks. In 2001 this idea was revived, with a modern
sound, their own compositions and, finally, a good name: Tanghetto was born at
last.
The current line-up
includes Hugo Satorre (bandoneón), Matías Novelle (acoustic and electronic
drums), Gabriel Clenar (piano) and Chao Xu (violoncello and chinese bowed
string instrument erhu).
